HOUSTON, TX – Cindy Siegel today announced her campaign for re-election as Chair of the Harris County Republican Party (HCRP), pledging to continue building the strong, effective, grassroots-driven organization that has led Republicans to their best results in a decade.
When Siegel was first elected in December 2020, the Party was broke, divided, and coming off three consecutive election cycles without a single countywide win. Since then, HCRP has been revitalized:
● 9 countywide Republican victories in 2024, the strongest showing since 2014
● Record precinct chair recruitment and training programs
● Record numbers of poll watchers and election workers recruited
● Restored donor confidence and record fundraising for local GOP efforts
● Statewide leadership in engaging in school board and city council elections, inspiring other counties to follow suit
●
“Over the past five years, we’ve worked side by side to strengthen and grow our Party,” Siegel said. “Together, we’ve won races, expanded our grassroots, battled for election integrity, and fought back against corrupt leftist Democrats in Harris County. But our work is not finished. With so much on the line in 2026, we cannot afford to lose focus or momentum.”
Siegel enters the race with broad support from Republican leaders and grassroots activists alike. Nearly 100 Republican leaders across Harris County and Texas have already endorsed Cindy’s re-election, including RNC National Committeeman Dr. Robin Armstrong, State Senator Paul Bettencourt, State Representative Valoree Swanson, and Harris County Commissioner Tom Ramsey.
Siegel, a former mayor, longtime grassroots leader, and Republican activist, emphasized that the Party’s strength comes from its volunteers and precinct chairs. “The Harris County GOP belongs to the grassroots,” Siegel added. “Together, we’ve proven we can win again in Harris County — and in 2026, we’re going to finish the job.”
